They slide on easily and they can be worn over or under your regular trousers. My standard practice is to wear these under my work trousers so I'm presentable at work but I can ride to and from work in the rain without getting soaked. Gussets and zips on the lower legs to facilitate putting these over the tops of riding boots. Other than that, no complications - no fly, no pockets, nothing to potentially compromise the waterproof shell.
